Dear Rory,
After what has been a long period filled with delays I’m happy to say I got the job working with people living with neurological issues. I start a week this Monday.
I happened to be speaking to someone who knows the subject extremely well. She also has an adult son diagnosed with autism and ADHD. However, when I spoke about you and the fact you showed no symptoms in the 11 years I knew you, she suggested it’s more likely you are living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. That makes sense to me as you were dragged into what should have been an adult-only discussion (which I readily admit I handled badly).
I do not say any of this to upset you. But you have been subject to difficulty in your life and I believe may have been misdiagnosed. Perhaps it would be worth getting a second opinion at some point so that at least you are sure.
Anyway, I don’t want to take you away from your course work, remembering what you once said about having no space for me in your life. But what is the subject you are studying? May I ask?
Love from Scotland’s west coast.
Your dad.
